“Good morning Upper East Siders, Gossip
Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattans
elite. Today I serve you a delicious dish of déjà vu and no it is not a van der
Woodsen gracing Grand Central. I spy with my little eye a Humphrey and its not
Lonely Boy. Welcome back to the big apple Little J. And by the looks of her
luggage, she’s here to stay. I wonder if she’s going to play naughty or nice. I
have a funny feeling that she isn’t back to air kiss the Upper East Side
socialites. I think she may be back for revenge. Watch out S. Game on. You will
hear from me soon I’m sure about that. You know you love me. XOXO Gossip Girl.”
It
was a cold December morning, Jenny Humphrey’s train had just pulled up to Grand
Central, as she stepped out into the crisp cool air she took a deep breath and
realized what she was doing. She was back. Back in the city that ruined her
life and back surrounded by the people that drove her to leave. With this thought
in her mind Jenny walked out of the station with confidence, she was here to do
one thing, to stop her brother Dan from marrying Serena Van der Woodsen.
Jenny
walked up to the front door, took a deep breath and knocked. She heard her
Father mumbling to himself and then the door opened. “Jenny!” Rufus screamed,
as he stood in shock at his daughter standing before him. He picked her up and
swung her around before putting her down. “Welcome back my darling, what a
surprise! I was just heading out to meet Lily, Serena and Dan for brunch, it
will be great if you come too.” Jenny thought that this was the perfect opportunity
to get the ball rolling.
Before
arriving at brunch Serena and Dan had already caught wind of Jenny’s return
thanks to Gossip Girl. Dan was excited to see his sister but uneasy about why
Jenny was in town and of her intentions. Serena on the other hand knew exactly
what she was; for maybe it was time to call on her partner in crime Miss Blair
Waldorf the queen of scheme. Will S and B return to their scheming ways? At
brunch there were talks of a social extravaganza happening tonight that half of
Upper East Side would be attending. Would this be Jenny’s opportunity?
“Gossip Girl here. You know who loves a
fancy soiree, me. We all know that a good party always involves the unexpected
right? Never fear Upper East Siders,
I have a feeling things are about to get interesting. XOXO Gossip Girl.”
Jenny
walked into the ballroom of The Empire Hotel and saw Chuck, who was drunk. No
surprises there. “Little J, how lovely to have you back” Chuck said to Jenny.
“Go
away Chuck, where is Dan?” She replied.
“What
had you under the illusion that I would know, I don’t associate with your
Brooklyn brother.”
Jenny
had forgotten what it was like to be in this world, surrounded by bright
lights, dripping diamonds and fake faces. She proceeded to walk through the
crowd of well-dressed snobs that quite frankly she hated. Finally, from across
the room she caught a glimpse of Dan and Serena.
Jenny
walked towards the love stuck couple and found herself standing between them.
“And what do you want Jenny? Why are you even back here? You know no one likes
you.” Serena snidely commented.
“Calm
down, don’t talk to my sister like that. Jenny I didn’t know you were coming
tonight” replied Dan.
Jenny
looked at Dan and turned to face Serena. “Anything that you have neglected to
share?”
Serena
stared blankly back at Jenny. “Here we go” she sighs, “what are you even
talking about?”
A conniving
smile flashed across Jenny’s face, “don’t worry S, you will find out soon
enough”. She turned and made her way back through the crowd.
Beep
beep. All Upper East Siders know what this sound meant.
“Gossip Girl here and boy do I have some
dirt to dish. Looks like S got up to no good last summer in Paris. Is that the
sound of wedding bells I hear? A little birdie told me that Lonely Boys future
ring may not fit on S’ finger. It seems that she already has a ring filling
this space. Come on S, we all know there can’t be any secrets kept around here.
Who’s your prince charming? Good luck talking your way out of this one, we all
know you need it. That’s all for now. XOXO Gossip Girl.
Jenny
quickly made her way out the front door leaving the mess she had created
behind. Her work here was done and she couldn’t be more content. Dan’s eyes moved
instantly from his phone to Serena’s. “Is this true? Are you married?” Serena
starred blankly at Dan, she now realized what Jenny was talking about. Stumped
that this had all come to the surface. Serena grabbed Dan’s hand “Its not what
it looks like, the lawyers are taking care of it.” Dan quickly turned around
pulling his hand from her grasp. “It is not what it looks like Dan! I DO NOT
LOVE HIM” she shouted, “its all a big mistake!”
“Leave
me alone Serena, you have betrayed me” Dan shouted as he disappeared into the
crowd of stunned on lookers. Standing alone Serena was left with nothing but
piercing glances and whispering to comfort her.
